Charming, heart-warming, sweet and happy. Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit speaks with intelligence to little children and fills their minds with the kind of endearing images they need to see at this tender age. So many books use garish and unintelligent images and language. This speaks to children as though they deserve our respect and lets their minds feast on beauty and lovely language. However, the audio can only be listened to on the computer. When it said it could be downloaded to the computer I thought that I could download it and then transfer it via USB connection. Unfortunately, I have not found a way to put it on the Kindle at all. I thought that my daughter would be able to look at the illustrations while listening to the audio, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. I had trouble even finding where the audio was, and I don't know if it's this way with all audio books for the Kindle (this is the first audio book that I have purchased,) but I had to flip to the back of the book to find it. There are three buttons: "Click to Download," "Mirror1," and "Mirror2." Click on "Mirror1," because the others are absolutely awful to listen to. I'm thinking that this wasn't a true audio book, and I'm a little disappointed because it did come up under the audio book link... Read more |
